Weetwood is a predominantly residential area located north of Headingley and close to the Ring Road. The area is popular with families due to the larger houses and great schools which are close by. There are many restaurants located a short drive or bus ride away in Headingley, Adel, and Roundhay and there is a lovely pub and restaurant in nearby Weetwood Hall (see Area Guide for Weetwood).

Both Weetwood primary school and Lawnswood secondary school are rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted and there is also Moorlands Independent School close by. For getting out and about you can easily access the Hollies, a stunning park and old oak woodland which is rumoured to have been Tolkien’s inspiration for the Lord of the Rings trilogy when he lived in West Park. The Meanwood Valley trail is also nearby, providing a great weekend walk in beautiful surroundings.
