“We bought the property in Newport Gardens as we already had purchased a tenanted property in the same cul-de-sac some years before and having started out married life in Headingley we knew the area well and found the Newports to be a quiet backwater with a good mix of families, professionals and students. There were no issues with parking, it was also convenient for the centre of Headingley and near main bus routes to the university and centre of Leeds. The nearby Burley train station was another plus. We have on the whole found this area to be kept clean and tidy. Our tenants have commented that it is pleasant and quiet without the constant noise of passing traffic and the rabbit runs that prevail elsewhere in the surrounding areas – third year students have found it to be beneficial when revising for their finals. We are sad to be selling up but feel that it is time now to hang up our decorating and cleaning equipment and DIY skills to enjoy our retirement. We will miss our interaction with our tenants.”
