    “We chose to live in Headingley as it had a vibrant, bustling and varied nightlife with plenty of local amenities – it’s a 10 minute walk to Sainsbury’s, 5 minutes to the pub, 3 minutes to a bus stop into town, 20 minutes to the nursery at a 2 year old’s pace (in reality about 10 mins) and literally a minute to the park gates. We chose the house for its size, its southerly rear aspect and the enclosed garden. It’s proved a great family home for my partner and I, our German Shepherd and two young boys. Opening up the back of the property with the knock through and bi-fold doors changed what was two rooms (one of which we hardly used) into an amazing light and airy space where we spend most of the day. Soon after getting the dog the park quickly became a valuable asset, made no less so when the kids arrived some years later. There is a strong sense of community with friendly neighbours, a community emailing list (Friends of Beckett Park) and a group who help to look after the park – encouraging the community to get involved as much, or as little, as they wish.”
