“When we initially viewed the house, we knew immediately we wanted to make it our home. Everything about it was right: the crescent was green, quiet, and had a neighbourly feel to it – we certainly were not wrong about that, as years of joining our lovely neighbours for street parties in the summer and snow shovelling extravaganzas in the winter proved; its proximity to the city and to the many Headingley amenities, as well as the excellent public transport on Otley Road, have meant we hardly ever need to use our car around Leeds; its wide windows and orientation have meant that we can always have a cup of tea in a bright, sunny room; last, but for us, in fact, first, our huge private south facing garden. It has established fruit trees, bushes and flower beds which have been ideal for enjoying a glass of wine in the evening, serenaded by the many singing birds the garden attracts. It’s more than large enough to welcome our friends and their children, and for hosting parties, filled with friendly volleyball, badminton and pétanque matches. We’ve been constantly updating our home, to make it even cosier, and have been very fortunate to live in a lovely house and garden, surrounded by wonderful neighbours – whom we will surely miss.”
