The seller told us:
“This house has been a brilliant starter home for me, it’s spacious yet cosy and with more bedrooms than the average back-to-back terrace I’ve been able to have lodgers over the years, covering the cost of my mortgage. It’s great for socialising with the open-plan downstairs area, and in the summer we put the table and chairs onto the garden and enjoy the outside space. The kitchen really drew me to the house; it’s rare to find a decent sized kitchen in a back-to-back in Burley. And the walk-in pantry is a dream. When you’re relaxing in the window seat you can look down the street and see the river and the trees of Armley Ridge. The house stays really warm during the winter and as it faces southwest, it doesn’t get too hot in the summer, plus we get to see the most amazing sunsets! The boiler, windows and kitchen have all been installed in the last few years (and we have the warranties). The location is the best in the city to my mind. It’s a 30 minute walk into Headingley, and to the university and city centre. Regular buses go from the bottom of the road and the operators accept each other’s tickets into town, making it really convenient. I commute from Leeds station and walk along the canal every morning enjoying one the hidden green areas of the city (Burley Park, Kirkstall Abbey and Kirkstall Nature Reserve are also worth checking out). There are loads of great independent cafés and restaurants along Kirkstall Road – delicious Caribbean, Sicilian, Polish and Indian food just within a few minutes away, and the Cardigan Arms is a great local. “
Tom Atkin, one of Moores Negotiators, says:
“We’ve recently sold a number of houses in this area and they have proven very, very, popular. Both first time buyers and buy-to-let landlords like the location, and I can see why. Within walking distance are sports facilities, gyms, supermarkets and excellent transport links into town. For first time buyers on a budget, you’d be hard pressed to find an area that offered better value for money with all these on hand.”
From the junction of the A65 Kirkstall Road, Kirkstall Lane and Bridge Road, by the Kirkstall Sports Centre (near Kirkstall Abbey, Morrisons & the new M&S Food Hall) proceed east towards Leeds on the A65 arterial road. After a quarter of a mile or so turn left into Woodside Terrace where this property can be found on the right-hand side.A brief history of this area
