Bank Holiday Monday saw the Meanwood Fun Day, on the Meanwood Cricket Pitch next to the Myrtle Tavern pub. In it’s fourth year the Fun Day, organised by the Meanwood Valley Partnership, was attended by over 5000 people and was the biggest yet.

Our Partner Hayley was one of the Fun Day organisers and says ‘it was definitely the biggest and best yet! We estimate that about 5000 came along and because the sun was shining people seemed to stay for the majority of the day. We had a whole field of children’s activities this year, as well as a petting zoo, owl display, live music and food and retail stalls. It was great to be a part of the organisation again and it was fantastic to see so many people out enjoying themselves’.

Angie Wright and Gemma Hornsby came down from Moores to help on the day itself and did a fabulous job manning the Pimms tent, which was a Meanwood Valley Partnership stall. Angie said ‘it was great to be a part of such a good community event, and to see lots of local businesses like Moores being involved too’.

Moores were a Meanwood Festival and Fun Day sponsor for a fourth year, and we also donated the high-viz jackets that the organisers were wearing on the day.
