Kirkstall Art Trail 2017 – Press Release

2nd June 2017

Kirkstall Art Trail is an annual celebration of art in the community, featuring local artists and creative organisations. For two days, venues throughout Kirkstall will host a variety of exhibitions, free workshops and activities suitable for all ages and abilities to take part in.
Now in its third year, the Art Trail will take place on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th July from 11am to 5pm. This year we have over 70 local artists and creative organisations taking part in the two day event.
Venues for this year will include Kirkstall Abbey (the main hub for the event), Hollybush Conservation Centre, St Stephens Church, private residences and Kirkstall Bridge Shopping Park amongst many others. At the venues you will have the chance to meet the artists and makers, learn new skills, and enjoy art in an informal environment.
The art we are exhibiting this year will be as varied as our venues, from painting to textiles, ceramics to jewellery design and so much more. This will also be your opportunity to pick up some affordable art as many of the pieces will be for sale throughout the weekend.
Following on from the successful yellow gnome trail in 2016, this year we are asking visitors to track our Kirkstall Art Trail Llamas which will be hidden at several top-secret locations over the weekend.
Refreshments will also be available at several locations on the Trail, including a cheeky tipple for the grown-ups!
Full details of our activities, refreshment sites and exhibitions will be available on our Art Trail map, which can be downloaded from our website kirkstallarttrail.com and at our venues throughout event.
