13th May 2020
It was unexpectedly announced last night that as of today, Wednesday 13th May 2020, sales and lettings activity can resume within England under The Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) (England) (Amendment) (No2) Regulations. Whilst we are extremely pleased to be able to keep the market moving, it goes without saying that the health and safety of our staff, sellers, buyers, landlords, tenants, applicants and contractors is of paramount importance over the coming weeks.
Despite Government giving Estate and Letting Agents the green light to resume activity, the guidance from our industry regulator, Propertymark, as well as Government itself is clear that we must work within stringent guidelines going forward. Moores Estate Agents are currently reviewing their processes to ensure that we comply with the Government’s ‘Working Safely During COVID-19’ guidelines, published on Monday 11th May, as well as having the correct social distancing measures in place for when in-person viewings can resume.
Our office door will remain closed to the public until further notice and our team will continue to work remotely from home. Once our systems are in place our priority is to ensure that our sales and lettings transactions which were paused at the beginning of lockdown can recommence and recommence safely. We are also putting systems in place this week so that we will be able to carry out virtual viewings followed by in-person viewings later next week, the latter subject to meeting criteria. At the present time, we will continue to offer remote valuations but this is something that we will be reviewing over the course of the coming days/weeks.
We are honoured that the Government has given our industry the opportunity to show how it can benefit the economy, but with this comes a great responsibility and as an industry we must make sensible, long term plans so that we can resume our work in a way that is safe for everyone involved.
We will update you again next week. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact us on 0113 274 2033 or by email on email@example.com
Thank you for your understanding and patience.
