COVID-19: An Update From Moores

6th January 2021

At Moores, the health and well-being of our staff, sellers, buyers, landlords and tenants is of paramount importance.

Following the Prime Minister’s address to the nation on Monday 4th January, it was announced that people can still move home and estate agents can continue to work. However, it’s vital that we continue to follow the Government’s Covid-19 safety guidelines, including social distancing, wearing face coverings and providing online video tours for all listings.

With this in mind, we will continue to provide our professional and efficient 7-day service for sellers, buyers, landlords and tenants, while adhering to the Government’s Covid-19 safety guidelines. We will be contactable by phone and email 7 days a week and are open by appointment only.

Where possible, our staff will work from the safety of their homes, while we maintain regular contact to ensure their well-being.

For the small number of staff who continue to work in the office, our safety measures remain in place. These include the wearing of face coverings while away from desks, regular hand washing and sanitising, social distancing and a one-way system. The professional cleaners who we employ to clean our office will also continue to visit three days per week.

We will continue to conduct viewings and market appraisals with the following safety precautions:

Market Appraisals

Where a property is unoccupied, the owner will be asked to remain outside while we conduct the market appraisal. The owners of occupied properties will be asked to take a series of photos that will allow us to conduct a virtual market appraisal (desktop valuation). We may then visit the exterior of the property before finalising our report for the owner.

For viewings at vacant properties, our negotiators will only enter to open the curtains and turn the lights on. They will then wait in their car to allow no more than two viewers (from the same household) to look inside the property.

We will not conduct viewings at occupied properties in order to minimise contact. Therefore, where the occupier is willing and it safe to do so, they will be asked if they wish to undertake the viewing.

Attendees at ALL viewings must follow the Government’s Covid-19 safety guidelines.

Booking an Appointment?

We politely ask that, before booking an appointment with us or allowing us to visit your property, you inform us if you have experienced any of the following:

– If you or anyone in your household are displaying symptoms of coronavirus

– If you have been in contact with someone who has tested positive for coronavirus in the last 14 days

– You’re currently self-isolating or have done so within the last 14 days

We continue to monitor advice from the Government, in addition to taking advice from NAEA and ARLA Propertymark who we are affiliated to. We will update our clients and customers when necessary.

If you would like to speak to us regarding your property please don’t hesitate to contact Michael Davies for Sales or Angie Wright for Rentals on 0113 274 2033.

Stay safe,
