The Government has announced a further extension to the ban on evictions for residential tenants that was put in place last year in response to the pandemic. The new end date is 31st May 2021. The ban prohibits bailiff-enforced evictions in England.
Landlords are still required to issue at least six months’ notice to tenants if they need vacant possession.
The ban has been extended several times during the pandemic, but ministers suggest this is the last extension before a “new approach” is brought into place from June.
